Teams To Conduct Massive Search For Missing Man's Body

Polk County Sheriff's Office search teams will conduct a  massive search tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24, 2002, for the body of missing Winter Haven man Charles Howard (C.H.) Kindred. Twenty-six year-old Kindred has been missing since Oct. 1, 2001.

During the ongoing missing persons investigation, detectives received information that Kindred's body may possibly be buried in a 25 to 50-acre area South of Mulberry on State Road 37.  Up to 60 search team members - including K-9s, airboats, cadaver dogs, and dive team members - will canvass the area in search of Kindred's body.

Media is invited to cover the search at 9:30 a.m. Video and photo opportunities of the search will be made available. The PCSO mobile command center will be set up off of State Road 37, south of Mulberry and north of Bradley.

Kindred was last seen the morning of Oct. 1, after he dropped his children off at daycare and then traveled to a Lake Wales auto parts store. Foul play has been suspected throughout the investigation. His work truck was found abandoned at a Lakeland Speedway convenience store located at Combee Road and A-Z Parkway.

Anyone who has information about the case and wants to remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $10,000 reward is asked to call Polk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS. Anonymity is Guaranteed!
