PCSO To Hold School
Crossing Recognition Breakfast
The Polk County
Sheriff's Office School Crossing Unit will host its annual recognition
breakfast at 9 a.m., March 2, 2002, at the W.H. Stuart Conference Center
The crossing guards will be recognized for their dedicated and faithful
service to the Polk County Sheriff's Office and the community.
Crossing guards are part-time members of the Sheriff's Office and are
assigned to specific locations throughout the county. It is their
responsibility to oversee the safe crossing of children traveling to and
from elementary schools. The guards report to their post 5 days a week
regardless of weather conditions. Crossing guards are some of the most
highly visible county employees, and they serve as positive role models
for one of Polk's most valuable resources, children.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office would like to thank Colorado Boxed Beef,
Publix Super Markets Charities, Spring Haven Retirement Community, Born To
Retire-Nationwide Insurance, Imperial Polk Credit Union, and the Knights
of Columbus #4726 for contributing to the recognition breakfast.
