Central County Jail Visitation To Offer Appointments For Convenience Of Visitors
Beginning May 1,
2002, visitation at the Central County Jail located at 2390 Bob Phillips
Road in Bartow will begin offering scheduled appointments for the
convenience of visitors.
Previously, visitors were required to arrive 45 minutes to one hour prior
to their desired visitation time and wait in line to sign up for
visitation. Allowing visitors to call ahead and make appointments is
expected to make visitation more convenient for both visitors and
visitation staff of the busy Central County Jail.
Visitors will now be required to call ahead and schedule an appointment
for inmate visitation. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance of
the desired visitation time. To schedule an appointment, visitors are
asked to call 863-534-6153, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday through
Tuesday. Also, visitors must arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled
appointment and present proper identification
Visitation appointments for Central County Jail are offered during the
following times on both Saturday and Sunday for adult male, female and
trusty inmates: 7 am to 8 am; 8 am to 9 am; 9 am to 10 am; 12 pm to 1 pm;
1 pm to 2 pm; 2 pm to 3 pm; 3 pm to 4 pm.
Central County Jail visitation for trusty inmates only additionally is
offered on Monday and Friday, also by appointment only. To make an
appointment during those days, visitors are to call 863-534-6153 Sunday
through Tuesday. Trusty visitation appointments are available during the
following times on Monday and Friday: 7 am to 8 am; 8 am to 9 am; 9 am to
10 am; 12 pm to 1 pm; 1 pm to 2 pm; 2 pm to 3 pm; 3 pm to 4 pm. The
visitation entrance for Central County Jail is located on the east side of
NOTE: visitation procedures for South County Jail in Frostproof will not
change to "appointment only" at this time. Those visitation procedures
will continue as currently established, with sign-up times the same day as
