Active Meth Lab Found and Destroyed During Arrest

Polk County Sheriff's undercover narcotics detectives, in conjunction with the HIDTA  (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Task Force and DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) agents arrested a man as he was operating an active methamphetamine lab out of his home.  After receiving information through their investigation of illicit activity at the house, law enforcement agents responded to 5815 Davis Road in Lakeland on Monday, January 13,
2003, around 1:00 p.m., and found James Leonard Arrington, DOB 3/23/65, in the process of manufacturing meth.

The active meth lab was seized and Arrington was placed under arrest.  The lab was disposed of by a company contracted by the federal government for bio-hazardous disposal.  Arrington was booked into the Polk County Jail later that evening, and he has been charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine ($5000 bond), and Resisting Arrest with Violence ($1000 bond).
