The Tampa Bay Regional Domestic Security Task Force will host a public health and safety response equipment display on Wednesday, January 29, 2003, in the parking area south of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
There will be a briefing for the media and public officials at 10:00 am in parking area 5/7. Following the briefing, the media and public officials will be invited to tour the display site. At 12:00 pm, the display will be opened to the public. The display will close at 3:00 pm.
Media should park in lot 5/7 off of Tampa Bay Blvd./Tom McEwen Blvd. The media briefing site is adjacent to the parking area. The public should also park in lot 5/7.
The equipment on display could be used to respond to weapons of mass destruction or other terrorist attacks. Participants include the nine counties and many of the municipalities that make up the Tampa Bay Regional Domestic Security Task Force. They are: Hillsborough, Citrus, Hardee, Hernando, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sumter counties. Additional participants include the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Department of Emergency Management, Department of Health, University of South Florida Center For Biological Defense, Tampa area hospitals, and several volunteer agencies.
