Polk County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Mulberry man for cultivation of cannabis (marijuana) on Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Around noon that day, deputies responded to the residence at 3335 Cross Fox Drive in Mulberry to investigate a reported suspicious incident. Once there, deputies gathered information that the home was being used as a "grow house" for marijuana by its occupant, Michael Jason Zonner, DOB 6/5/75.
A search warrant for the residence was
immediately obtained, and detectives from the Bureau of Special
Investigations responded to assist. After searching the residence, a
total of 114 cannabis plants were found and seized, and three rooms
(bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet) were found to have been converted into
a hydroponic grow room for the purposes of cultivating the plants.
Deputies responded to Zonner's place of employment and arrested him
without incident. He was booked into the Polk County Jail and
charged with Cultivation of Marijuana. Zonner was released on $1,000
bond the next day (February 5, 2003).
