Three Polk County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Technicians have received International Certification from the International Association for Identification, Forensic Certification Program.
Crime Scene Technicians Laura Sheffield, Jean Gardner and Laurie Ward successfully completed the certification process, which includes an extensive review of volumes of study material and wraps up with a 200-question exam. The study focused on both forensic and criminal investigation issues.
After several months of study, all three successfully passed the exam and received certification. Obtaining international certification is part of the Crime Scene Unit's continuing effort to provide exemplary service to the citizens of Polk County.
"Your willingness to make sacrifices to reach both a personal and professional goal is an example of your dedication and commitment to the Polk County Sheriff's Office," said Colonel Gary Hester in recognizing the trio.
