PCSO Has Creative Ways to Raise Money for the Heart Walk
This year, the Polk County Sheriff's Office
has again come up with some creative and fun ways to raise money for the
American Heart Association "Heart Walk" campaign, and all are invited to
- Wednesday, September 3, 2003, 11:00 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m.: Sgt. Gary Klinger of the Missing Persons Unit
performs in concert at the Stuart Center in Bartow. Tickets are
$5.00 and include hamburgers, hot dogs, and entertainment.
- Attendees can also purchase balls to throw
at a dunking booth featuring the following Sheriff's Office and State
Attorney's Office personnel: Major W.J. Martin of the Criminal
Investigation Division, Captain Timothy Holleyman of the Southeast
District, Captain Andy Ray of the Southwest District, Captain Dennis
Russell of the Special Operations Division, and Sam Cardinale of the
State Attorney's Office. (Additional dunkees to be announced.)
- Friday, September 5, 2003, 8:00 a.m.:
Charity Golf Tournament at Ridgewood Lakes Golf & Country Club in
Davenport. Cost is $55.00 per player, format is four person
best-ball, and lunch is sponsored by Americom. Contact Captain

- Friday, September 12, 2003, 5:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m.: Polk County Sheriff's deputies will deliver Hungry
Howie's Pizzas and donate all tips to the Heart Walk, in the U.S. Hwy 92
& Combee Road delivery area.
- The Heart Walk - to be held Saturday, Oct.
4, at the Winter Haven PCC campus - is an amateur, non-competitive
event, designed for fun, exercise and wellness promotion. Funds raised
through the Heart Walk campaign support research, community service, and
public and professional education programs. Please support the fight
against heart disease and stroke - the leading causes of death in
