Four Charged With Sale of Alcohol to Minors

A joint undercover operation on Thursday, October 23, 2003 by the Polk County Sheriff's Office School Resource Unit and the State Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco, targeting the sale of alcohol to underage customers at gas stations and convenience stores, resulted in charges filed against four store clerks.

During the operation, the following were charged with one count each of Selling an Alcoholic Beverage to a Person under 21 Years of Age:

  • Suboh Abukhdeir, DOB 2/10/49, store clerk at Seven Star located at 1st Ave & Main Street in Bradley.
  • Mahmoud Andesha, DOB 1/1/66, of Lakeland; store clerk at JMJ Foodmart located at 4075 Hwy 60 W in Mulberry.
  • Lorene Dukes, DOB 2/17/64, store clerk at the Texaco located at 104 N. Church Street in Mulberry.
  • Ganesh Mohandas, DOB 10/23/77, store clerk at Mulberry Marathon located at 506 W. Canal Street in Mulberry.

The operation targeted a total of nine establishments in the county. The above listed suspects
were the only clerks to sell alcohol to the underage "customer."
