Sale of Horses Postponed Until Further Notice

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is postponing the sale of the abused horses seized from Rachel Semprini on January 6, 2004.

Today, March 11, 2004, the Polk County Sheriff's Office was advised that Dana C. Semprini, Rachel's sister, intends to file an appeal in the awarding of custody to Sheriff Crow of the 1996 Reserve World Champion Quarter Horse "He's Doubley Sonny". Dana Semprini, represented by Tony C. Dodds, Esquire, claims that she is the legal owner of He's Doubley Sonny, although County Court Judge Steven Selph found that she had no standing in this case when it went to hearing on February 6, 2004. On behalf of Dana Semprini, Mr. Dodds intends to appeal that decision.

The sale of all horses, and the two public viewings, will be rescheduled upon the completion of the appeal proceedings.

**Please note the sale of the seized snakes will still take place on March 19, 2004 by sealed bid only.
