PCSO And DEA Seize $750,000 Dollars' Worth Of Illegal Narcotics

After a 3-week long joint investigation with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), undercover Polk County Sheriff's Narcotics detectives made four arrests and seized several pounds of illegal narcotics after serving search warrants at two addresses in Lake Hamilton and Haines City today.

As of 5:00 p.m., agents and detectives so far seized 15 lbs. methamphetamines, 3 lbs. of which were in its most pure form called "ice", and 10 lbs. cannabis.  The total street value of these drugs is $750,000.

Arrested were:

Alfonso Trujillo, DOB 2/10/82, of 219 West Nelson Street in Lake Hamilton;
Oscar Vela, DOB 2/7/82, same address;
Ada Garcia-Vela, DOB 6/22/78, same address;
Daniel Ramirez, DOB 9/12/85, of 36 Ash Street in Haines City.

These suspects will be transported to a federal facility in Tampa and will be charged with federal Distribution of Methamphetamine.

This seizure is the largest seizure of illegal narcotics in Polk County in the past year.
