PCSO to Auction Seized Reptiles/Animals

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is scheduled to hold an auction/sale of numerous snakes and horses on April 9, 2004, at 1:30 p.m., at the PCSO jail farm located at 2390 Bob Phillips Road in East Bartow. The animals up for auction have been seized during various animal cruelty cases.

The following animals are slated for auction: a female Yellow Anaconda, female African Rock Python, male Pueblan Milk Snake, female Burmese Python, 2 male Columbian Boas, a 3-Quarter blanket Appaloosa mare, Appaloosa mare, and a tri-colored paint miniature mare. (Note: the snakes are from the Semprini case, but the horses are not - they are from another case).

The animals may be viewed from 11 a.m. until the time of sale on the day of the sale.

The auction/sale is held to help off-set the costs associated with fees and expenses for impound, feed, and care of the animals.  A minimum bid shall be set pursuant to F.S. 588.  Beyond the minimum bid, the reptiles/animals will be for sale to the highest and best bidder for CASH ONLY.  All sales are dependent upon approval of bidder(s) as suitable owner(s).  The Sheriff reserves the right to refuse any sale.
