Seized Horses to be Auctioned at Tampa Horse Sale This Saturday
The Polk County Sheriff's Office is placing
six horses up for auction at the Tampa Horse Auction this Saturday, June
5, 2004. The horses were seized during an animal abuse case against
Lakeland resident Cheryl Semprini. PLEASE NOTE: NOT UP FOR AUCTION
will be He's Doubley Sonny - an AQHA registered 10 yr. old American
Quarter Horse Palomino Stallion, 1996 Reserve World Champion Halter
Horse. This horse will not be up for auction pending
determination of final custody.
On February 16, 2004, in the Civil Division of the County Court (case
#2004CC-00272), Lawrence W. Crow, Jr., Sheriff of Polk County, was
awarded custody of several animals that were seized during an animal
abuse case against Cheryl Semprini and co-defendants Rachel and Matthew
Semprini. The following horses will be auctioned on June 5, 2004 at the
Tampa Horse Sale, located at 10006 E. Fowler Rd. Thonotosassa, Florida,

Descriptions of the horses are as follows (From left to right):
Sonny's Redemption - AQHA registered 15 yr. old Quarter Horse Mare,
mother of He's Doubley Sonny. She is a foundation bred quarter
horse, 15 hands.
Alexie Beauty Bar - AQHA registered 14 yr. old Quarter Horse Mare,
foundation bred (Double king bred), 15.1 hands.
Grettle - 6 yr. old Quarter Horse Mare, 15.2 hands.
Lucky - 6 yr. Old Quarter Horse
Bay Stallion. 14.3 hands.
Shorty - 4 yr. old Miniature dark Palomino Dunn Stallion, 9 hands.
20 yr. old Bay Mare Pony (Welch type), 11.3 hands.
Proceeds from the auction will help cover some of the expenses incurred
by the Sheriff's Office during the ongoing investigation.
