PCSO Dive Team Members Participate in Training, Clean-up of Local Spring

The Polk County Sheriff's Office USART (Dive Team) members recently participated in a Disney-sponsored training exercise that also served to help clean a local spring. The underwater search and rescue training event allowed several public safety dive teams the opportunity to train together while also cleaning the underwater portions of Wekiva Springs in Orange County.

The exercise not only served a crucial training need, but also helped the environment with the clean-up of an important natural resource.

The event also helped to promote a team/partnership among the participating agencies, with the goal of sharing experiences and ideas among the participating members to enhance each team's capabilities to further serve their community.

In addition to the PCSO USART Team, participating agencies included the Orange County SO, Seminole SO, Orlando PD, Lakeland PD, and others.
