Sheriff Crow Lifts Curfew

Polk County Sheriff Lawrence W. Crow, Jr., has lifted the curfew that he imposed on Sunday, September 26, 2004.

Under the provisions of Florida Statute 870.043, due to clear and present danger of general public disorder in the Polk County disaster areas, the Sheriff declared a dusk to dawn curfew in areas of Polk County where power outages, extensive storm damages, and flooding existed, due to Hurricane Jeanne. That curfew remained in effect for 72 hours, and has expired. No areas of Polk County are under curfew at this time.
