PCSO deputies will participate in a bicycle helmet giveaway for kids next Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, with the goal of ensuring the safety of our youngsters as they bicycle in the county.
In partnership with Amscot Financial, Inc., PCSO deputies will be on-hand to give away free children's bicycle helmets at the Bartow Amscot, located at 250 East Van Fleet Drive, from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. next Friday. The helmets have been donated by Amscot.
Deputies will be on-hand to help fit and distribute the bicycle helmets to those children who need them (to ensure proper fitting and size, children must be present). Deputies also will share information about bicycle and roadway safety. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
NOTE TO MEDIA: please consider announcing this event prior to next Friday in order to spread the word to families with children who may benefit from the program. For more information, please contact the Crime Prevention Child Safety Unit at 863-534-6677.
