Pastor Arrested for Lewd Acts on a Child

In October 2004, Polk County Sheriff's Special Victims Unit detectives received information that a 15-year-old boy in Polk County had been victimized by a pastor here back in 1996, when the victim was 6 years old. Through their investigation, detectives located the suspect living in Douglas, Arizona. Several controlled phone calls were placed to the suspect, and enough probable cause was established to obtain an arrest warrant for him.

Douglas, Arizona police took Robert Enersen, DOB 10/08/50, of 1424 East 13th Street in Douglas, into custody without incident yesterday, December 27th, where so far he has been charged with 3 counts Lewd Assault on a Child.

Enerson was a pastor at the New Life Assembly of God in Wahneta in 1996, where he conducted youth services for approximately 2 months. Since he has moved to Arizona, Enerson has been a pastor there at the First Assembly of God church in Douglas for the past 2 years.

Enerson will be held without bond in the Cochise County Jail in Arizona pending his extradition to Polk County to face charges here. Douglas police have begun their own investigation to find out if there are any victims there.

According to the arrest affidavit  there are additional underage male victims in Michigan and North Carolina as well. The Polk County victim and Enersen knew each other outside of the church in Wahneta,  but it is not known if there are any other victims here.
