PCSO Selling Balloons and Much more for American Cancer Society

Member of the Polk County Sheriff's Office are coming up with some creative ways to raise money for the American Cancer Society, some of them slated for the month of February.

Volunteers are now taking orders for Valentine balloon-grams to be delivered anywhere in the county, just in time for Valentine's day. Each package includes 2 Mylar balloons, a bag of candy, and a card, for only $10.00. All orders must be submitted no later than February 4, 2005. Call Sgt. Chris Cross at 863-287-1380 to order.

In memory of Libby Threlkel Ray, the beloved wife of Captain Andy Ray of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, a dinner and dance will be held on February 26, 2005, with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

The event will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd. Dinner will be prime rib, followed by an evening of dancing and celebration. Attire is semi-formal. The cost is $50 per person. Checks should be made payable to the American Cancer Society. All donations are tax-deductible.

Please RSVP no later than February 1, 2005, to Sgt. Chris Cross at 287-1380.
