PCSO Wraps up Review of Technical Equipment Failure at Court House

The Polk County Sheriff's Office has completed a review of a technical equipment failure that occurred last month at the Polk County Court House.

The review has determined the initial equipment problem at the court house was the result of the failure of a "patch cable." The review further established that no intentional damage or theft of equipment has occurred, and all equipment initially thought missing has been located in its proper place (initial reports of missing equipment were due to an inconsistency in inventory/identification procedures).

The technical equipment failure occurred Jan. 11, 2005, and caused damage to various equipment at the Polk Court House. Bartow Police Department detectives initially responded to investigate the possibility of intentional damage and theft of the equipment. PCSO later assumed the review, which concluded this week with the above findings.
