DATE: September 23, 2005 MEDIA CONTACT: Carrie Rodgers, pgr 863-981-2374 FOUR ARRESTED IN UNDERCOVER DRUG STING Polk County Sheriff's undercover Narcotics detectives arrested four people this afternoon, Friday, September 23, 2005, after arranging for the purchase of 5 pounds of "ice" or crystal methamphetamines, with a street value of $15,000 per pound. Detectives met the individuals at the Citgo gas station located in Davenport on the corner of US Hwy 27 North and Ronald Reagan Pkwy (CR 54) at 10:55 this morning. After conducting an investigation since July with detectives from the DEA Tampa office, DEA Ocala office, and the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the four were taken into custody and booked into the Polk County Jail with a bond of $1 Million each. Arrested were: Samuel J. Jurado, HM, DOB 2/21/76, of 11630 NW 16th Place in Ocala, charged with 2 counts of Trafficking in Meth. over 400 grams for today's transaction and one additional count of Trafficking in Meth. over 400 grams for a transaction that occurred on July 29th; Nicolash Juarez, HF, DOB 2/27/80, who said she had no address, charged with 1 count Trafficking in Meth. over 400 grams; Joel J. Jaimes, HM, DOB 6/7/86, of 11475 NW 17th Place in Ocala, charged with 1 count Trafficking in Meth. over 400 grams; Gilberto G. Valencia, HM, DOB 1/28/84, who said he had no address, charged with 1 count Trafficking in Meth. over 400 grams and 1 count Conspiracy to Traffick in Meth. over 400 grams. XXX
