Polk County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives Arrest Second Suspect in Horace Scott Homicide

Polk County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives have arrested 20-year-old Ladarius Demario Glover (DOB 2/8/1992) of Lakeland in connection to the December 11th homicide of 66-year-old Horace Scott of Lakeland.

Glover was taken into custody at a residence in the area of 10th Street and Providence in north Lakeland. He is currently being questioned by PCSO detectives and will be booked into the Polk County Jail later this evening.  Glover is charged with one count First Degree Murder and one count Armed Robbery.

As previously reported:

According to witnesses and the investigation, the suspects, identified as 20-year-old Dale D’Andrew Robinson (DOB 11/7/1992) of 217 West 7th Street in Lakeland (arrested and in jail), and 20-year-old Ladarius Demario Glover (DOB 2/8/1992) of Lakeland, were responsible for the fatal shooting of Horace Scott as he stood on his front porch at 1046 Captiva Point around 2:50 p.m. on December 11, 2012.  The crime occurred just after Scott sold synthetic marijuana, known as K-2, to a witness.  The money that the witness told detectives he gave to Scott ($150.00 cash) for the K-2 was not found on Scott after he was killed.

Independent witnesses positively identified Robinson and Glover as the two suspects who were seen in the Secret Cove subdivision before and after the shooting.  Phone records, video surveillance images, and interviews with witnesses confirm that the two suspects were responsible for shooting and killing Scott, and robbing him.

“It is a tragedy that Mr. Scott was shot and killed standing on his own front porch; however, here is further proof that synthetic marijuana, or K-2, is not an innocuous substance.  It is a dangerous illegal drug, and criminals who use it, possess it, or sell it, are documented violent offenders.”  - Sheriff Grady Judd

On January 9, 2013, Robinson was arrested for one count First Degree Murder, and one count Armed Robbery.  Robinson was arrested by the Lakeland Police Department in February 2011 for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, for which he was on probation when he committed this homicide.
