PCSO Deputies Arrest Davenport Man for Felony Animal Cruelty

On March 4, 2015, PCSO deputies arrested 29-year-old Victor "Manny" Solano of 2808 RWS Ranch Rd in Davenport for one count Felony Animal Cruelty.

According to the affidavit, Solano asked neighbors if they had a gun he could borrow so that he could shoot his dog, an approximately 18 month old pit bull, "for making a mess in the trailer." The neighbors responded that they would not loan him a gun. The neighbors then observed the dog hanging with a rope around its neck from a tree in the yard. The dog was deceased. Solano then tied the rope to an ATV and drove the ATV, dragging the dog's body into a nearby pasture, where he disposed of the body in a pond.

Solano was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail. The dog's body was recovered and taken to PCSO Animal Control.

His previous criminal history includes a 2005 arrest by Orlando P.D. for Battery Domestic Violence; a 2006 arrest by Lake County S.O. for Carrying Concealed Weapon; a 2007 arrest by Orlando P.D. for Battery Domestic Violence; a 2007 arrest by Lake County S.O. for VOP; a 2008 arrest by PCSO for Burglary and Larceny, for which he was sentenced to five years in state prison. He was released from prison in March 2013.
