Girls Villa Invites Public to Girls Villa Open House

From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, the Florida Sheriffs Ranches Youth Villa for Girls, in Bartow, will open its doors to the public for their annual Open House.

The Youth Villa is located just east of Bartow at 3350 State Road 60 East. The girls will be providing tours of the campus and a barbecue lunch will be served to all guests. PCSO will have equipment displays, informational displays, and a K-9 demonstration as well. For more information, call Joyce Edwards at 863-533-0371.

Media representatives are encouraged to attend this event! Photo and video opportunities will be made available!

The Youth Ranches was founded in 1957 by two sheriffs who wanted to provide a brighter and more promising future to Florida’s at-risk children. Since then, the Youth Ranches has reached thousands of children and their families through a broad range of services, including residential, camp, and community-based programs.

The Youth Villa in Bartow is one of 4 residential sites operated by the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. The Villa provides a home for girls that provides structure, education, and traditional family values. Girls from ages 8-18 come to the Youth Villa from a variety of backgrounds. Some have been abandoned or abused, others might be struggling academically and socially. Each child entering the program is encouraged to set goals and strive for personal achievement. Community involvement, including the Bartow Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Youth Villa Classic Golf Tournament, has been the key to success at the Villa.
