In an effort to provide Easter cheer, encouragement, and some very cute stuffed animals to sick children, The Easter Bunny will be hopping to two area hospitals, along with PCSO deputy sheriff escorts, on Friday, April 18, 2014.
The visit is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and will begin at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, located at 1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. From there, the Easter Bunny and PCSO members will hop on over to the Regency Center for Women and Infants (101 Ave O SE in Winter Haven). The Easter Bunny will have Easter baskets filled with stuffed animals to hand out to the children.
The Easter Bunny visit is a partnership program made possible by The Easter Bunny Foundation, the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and local hospitals. Cindy Cutlip, Director of Foodservice—Restaurant Channel PepsiCo Foodservice Southeast Region, also sends representatives to assist us in this effort.
"In 2013, The Easter Bunny Hip-hopped in 33 states throughout the USA, delivering smiles to 13,000 hospitalized children.
The Easter Bunny Foundation is a Non-Profit organization whose mission is to provide a personal visit and a toy from The Easter Bunny during the week of Easter to children in children’s hospitals and pediatric wards across the United States; to share with others the excitement and wonderment that only a personal visit with The Easter Bunny can bring; and to deliver a smile to all with whom we come into contact.
We would like to thank those people who have helped make The Easter Bunny Foundation a success. In particular, a warm and 'hoppy' thanks to the 92 Sheriff’s Offices and four Police Departments that helped to make so many children smile this year." - The Easter Bunny Foundation www.theeasterbunny.com
