 Operation Pop Top Results 


On Thursday, April 18, 2013, Polk County Sheriff’s School Resource deputies, along with the assistance of a PCSO Explorer, conducted an  “Operation Pop Top” initiative in an effort to combat the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors. The operation was conducted in the Fort Meade, Homeland, and Fort Meade areas.

A total of 15 convenience stores were checked for the sale of alcoholic beverages to a minor, and all of the stores were found to be in compliance with the Florida beverage laws.

The following stores were checked and in compliance:

  1. Mac's Discount Food and Beverage, 822 North Charleston Ave, Fort Meade
  2. Presco Food Store, 825 North Charleston Ave, Fort Meade
  3. Qwik Way 4, 724 East Broadway St, Fort Meade 
  4. Dollar General, 109 South Charleston Ave, Fort Meade 
  5. Sunoco, 3 East Broadway St, Fort Meade
  6. Circle K, 116 North Charleston Ave, Fort Meade 
  7. Presco of Homeland, 6005 US Hwy 17 South, Homeland 
  8. RKS Chevron, 506 West Canal St, Mulberry 
  9. Dollar General, 410 West Canal St, Mulberry 
  10. Shell, 104 North Church St, Mulberry 
  11. BP, 905 West Canal St, Mulberry 
  12. Sunoco, 1285 SR 37 North, Mulberry 
  13. Murphys Express, 6801 North Church St, Mulberry
