Mulberry Man Arrested for 53 Counts Video Voyeurism - Suspect Used Hidden Camera To Film Young Girls in Bathroom

On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, PCSO Special Victims detectives arrested 51-year-old Dewey Norris (DOB 8/11/1961) of 4787 Fox Creek Drive West in Mulberry, and charged him with four counts Video Voyeurism of a Child Under Age 16, and 49 counts Video Voyeurism of a Child Over Age 16, as well as one count Destroying Evidence.

According to the affidavit, Norris placed a pen camera (a device that looks like an ink pen but has a camera concealed inside of it) in his bathroom to record four female victims he had access to, while they undressed.

The victims' ages are 14 years old, 15 years old, 16 years old, and 19 years old.

The 53 separate videos of the nude girls were discovered by a friend of Norris' who had access to Norris' computer, on 7 different DVD's.  When the friend discovered the video clips of the nude juvenile girls, he immediately turned the DVD's over to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Post-Miranda, Norris admitted to placing the hidden camera into the bathroom prior to each girl going in, and then retrieving it afterwards, and viewing the videos for his own sexual gratification.  Norris' face can be seen in the videos while he placed the camera in the bathroom.

Detectives seized five computers from Norris' home - three desktops and two laptops - and two cell phones, and they are in the process of conducting forensic analysis on each item.  Norris told detectives he completely destroyed the camera.  The investigation is ongoing.

The victims told detectives that they were all unaware that they were being filmed and that they were not sexually abused by Norris.

Norris told detectives he has been employed by the Hillsborough County School Board for over 20 years as an air conditioning unit mechanic.
