Operation Pop Top Results

 Operation Pop Top Results  

 On Thursday, April 27, 2017, PCSO deputies, along with the assistance of a PCSO Explorer (high school student volunteer), conducted “Operation Pop Top” in an effort to combat the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors in the Lakeland and Bartow area. Seven stores were checked and six were in compliance.

"We are consistently encouraged that the vast majority of retailers in our area comply with the laws prohibiting selling alcohol to minors. We thank them for their diligence. Those who do not comply will be held accountable.”  Grady Judd, Sheriff

The following stores were in compliance: 

Shell Gas Station- 1020 N. Broadway Ave, Bartow

Speedway Sunoco- 1385 N. Broadway Ave, Bartow

RaceTrac- 1690 N. Broadway Ave, Bartow

7-Eleven- 6175 US Highway 98 S, Lakeland

RaceTrac- 4865 US Highway 98 S, Lakeland

Wawa- 3105 US Highway 98 S, Lakeland

23-year-old Karthik Mohan of Lakeland, who works at the Great USA Food Mart LLC located at 337 Bartow Road of Lakeland, was arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a minor.
