On May 14, 2013, PCSO Traffic deputies obtained an arrest warrant for 58-year-old Michael Sisco of Ranch Hand Trial in Lake Wales, charging him with two counts DUI Manslaughter (F-2) and one count DUI Causing Serious Bodily Injury (F-3) for a traffic fatality he caused on December 24, 2012, in Lake Wales. He was taken into custody at his home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, and transported to the Polk County Jail.
According to the investigation, around 11:10 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Sisco was traveling east in his pickup truck, going the wrong way in the westbound lane of SR 60 just east of Boy Scout Road, when he struck a westbound PT Cruiser being driven by 47-year-old Felix Rosa.
As a result of the collision, Felix Rosa was severely injured, and two of Felix's passengers -- his father, 70-year-old Felix Rosa, and his mother, 70-year-old Anna Rosa -- were both killed.
Results of a blood analysis conducted by FDLE were returned to PCSO, and showed that at the time of the crash, Sisco was impaired and had Xanax and alcohol in his system.
Sisco will remain in the Polk County Jail on no bond until a first appearance hearing on Thursday, May 16, 2013.
"Our traffic deputies are extremely diligent in their investigations of traffic fatalities. They take every precaution to see all the i's are dotted and all the t's are crossed, and to ensure that criminals are brought to justice. Although Michael Sisco's arrest can't bring back these two beloved family members, it is our hope that the Rosa family will have some closure with the knowledge that the man who caused this tragedy is behind bars and has been appropriately charged." - Sheriff Grady Judd
Michael Sisco has three prior arrests in the Polk County Jail, for: Possession of Drug Without Prescription (2009); Battery Domestic Violence (2000); and Battery Domestic Violence (1996).
