Five Teens Arrested For Beating Another Teen, One Suspect Still At Large

Polk County Sheriff's deputies have arrested five teens and obtained a warrant for a sixth after they beat up a Lake Wales teen and his father.

According to the detectives' interviews with these suspects and other witnesses, five suspects met 18-year-old Jarred Register of Lake Buffum Road in Fort Meade at a gas station located at U.S. Hwy 27 and 1st Avenue in South Lake Wales during the late evening hours of Saturday May 19th/early morning hours of Sunday May 20th with the intent of driving to the victim's home on Easy Street in Lake Wales to "get back" at him for an altercation that occurred earlier that evening.

When the group arrived at the victim's home, the homeowner (victim's father) walked outside with his son and told all of the teens to get off their property. The teens instead battered both the father and his 17-year-old son. The teen was taken to the hospital by his father where he was treated for skull fractures and facial lacerations. His father had less serious injuries.

Detectives identified two suspects as 18-year-old Austin Owens, and Jarred Register, and obtained warrants for their arrests. Register turned himself in to PCSO on May 23rd and was placed under arrest.

A friend of Register's, 19-year-old Nicholas Hollifield, turned himself in to the Bartow Police Department later that evening, and made a full confession to the crimes. 18-year-old Hali Simmons, identified as Jarred Register's girlfriend, was also arrested and cooperated with detectives. 20-year-old Ricardo Pizano also participated in the fight, and was arrested on May 24, 2012.

Register posted on his own personal Facebook page on Sunday, May 20th, that he had "chased people down" in Lake Wales and got into a physical fight - he later deleted the post.
