On Wednesday, June 26, 2013, Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives attempted to locate 54-year-old David C. Ullman, DOB 10/07/1958, to ensure his compliance with his pretrial release conditions. As previously reported, Ullman was arrested on June 8, 2013, and charged with Attempted Lewd Battery, (F3), Unlawful use of Two-Way Communication Device, (F3); Seduce Solicit Entice to commit in Sexual Act, (F2), and Traveling to Meet Minor, (F2), after he contacted an undercover detective who was posing as 14-year-old female, telling the child-detective he was a 49-year-old male who wanted to teach the child-detective about sensual massage, ultimately soliciting the detective, whom he thought was a 14-year-old child, for oral sex.
Ullman bonded out of jail on June 11, 2013, posting a $52,000 surety bond. As a condition of his pre-trial release, Ullman was required to provide pre-trial services with the address of his actual residency and immediately provide any change of address to pre-trial services. Other pre-trial conditions for Ullman included having no contact with children under the age of 18, and not possessing a computer with Internet capabilities.
When deputies arrived at the address Ullman had provided to pretrial services, they discovered he was not there, nor had he been residing at the address. Two additional addresses were checked, but again, Ullman was not present.
Through investigation, detectives learned that he was staying at a guest house at 905 North Crooked Lake Drive, Babson Park. Ultimately, detectives located Ullman at the guest house.
Ullman told detectives he had discovered he could stay at the Crooked Lake house late Tuesday, June 25, 2013, “after the pretrial release service office had closed.” Ullman further stated after learning from friends and family law enforcement was looking for him Wednesday morning, he then contacted the pretrial office.
As a result of Ullman’s failure to comply with his pre-trial release conditions, pretrial release services requested the revocation of the release order. On Thursday, June 27, 2013, Judge Glenn T. Shelby revoked Ullman’s order granting pretrial release and a capias (warrant) was issued. Ullman was located at his Lake Wales residence, 1316 South Highland Park Drive, Lake Wales. He was arrested without incident by Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies and booked into the Polk County Jail. He is currently being held on no bond.
