CrossFit Competition To Honor PCSO Canine Team

The "Central Florida Games II," being held this weekend in Winter Haven, will honor fallen PCSO Canine Team Deputy Sheriff Matt Williams and K-9 DiOGi, by donating a portion of the proceeds to Polk Sheriff's Charities and creating workouts incorporating the date of their deaths.

The event will be hosted by the Chain of Lakes CrossFit on Saturday, July 12th and Sunday, July 13th, 2014, and will be held at the Chain of Lakes complex in Winter Haven.

Spectators will get the chance to try out a rope course on Saturday, July 12th.

On Sunday, July 13th, the final workout will honor Deputy Sheriff Matt Williams and his K9 DiOGi, both killed in the line of duty on September 28, 2006. The final workout will incorporate the numbers 9, 28, and 06, in the repetitions of exercises.

A giant check for Polk Sheriff's Charities in the amount of $1000 will be presented to Sheriff Grady Judd around noon on Sunday, prior to the final workout.
