At approximately 8:23 pm, on Monday, July 20, 2015, Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call about a possible retail theft occurring at the Target retail store located at 5000 Grandview Parkway, Davenport.
Through the investigation, the suspect was identified as 22-year-old Timothy J. Raschke, of Davenport. Detectives learned Raschke had concealed a Fitbit Charge device, a Mobile gamming device and a candy bar and attempted to leave the store without paying.
Raschke was placed under arrest. Detectives learned Raschke had been involved in seven additional thefts from the same store. Raschke had taken merchandise from the store on June 9, 2015; June 10, 2015, June 14, 2015, June 15, 2015, June 17, 2015, July 7, 2015, and July 9, 2015
Raschke admitted to stealing the merchandise during each of the incidents, and then selling it on Craigslist. Raschke then told detectives he used the money to pay for his hotel room. During a search of the room, over $300 worth of Target merchandise was located.
Raschke was charged with Grand Theft (1 count), Petit Theft (7 counts), Dealing in Stolen Property (6 counts), and Possession or Use of an Anti-shoplifting Device or Countermeasure (8 counts).
Raschke was transported to the Polk County Jail without incident.
