 Operation Pop Top Results  


On Tuesday, August 2, 2017, PCSO deputies, along with the assistance of a PCSO Explorer (high school student volunteer), conducted “Operation Pop Top” in an effort to combat the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors in the Bartow, Mulberry, and Lakeland areas. 11 stores were checked and 10 were in compliance.

"We are consistently encouraged that the vast majority of retailers in our area comply with the laws prohibiting selling alcohol to minors. We thank them for their diligence. Those who do not comply will be held accountable.”  Grady Judd, Sheriff

45-year-old Muhammed Ali of Lakeland, who works at the Marathon Store located at 3304 S. Florida Ave in Lakeland, was arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a minor.
