Four Lakeland Teens Charged With Battery And Robbery

Polk County Sheriff's deputies arrested four Lakeland teenagers after investigation revealed they beat up and robbed a 53-year-old Hungry Howie's delivery man.

According to the affidavits, on Friday, August 5, 2011, around 10:00 p.m., a Hungry Howie's delivery man delivered an assortment of food (total value $88.00) to 1026 Lakewood Circle, Apt. 1 in Lakeland. When the victim went to the door of the apartment with the food, he was attacked by four unknown assailants. The suspects beat him about the head, face, and body with a full paint can, then took the food, his money, his cellphone, and money out of his car, and fled the scene on foot. The victim drove back to Hungry Howie's to report the crime and was taken to LRMC where he was treated for multiple abrasions, lacerations, and a broken nose. He was also covered in white paint from the can.

When deputies arrived on-scene they located a large amount of white paint, and a trail of white footprints leading away from the scene. The apartment where the crime occurred was vacant. A PCSO canine team tracked the footprints to a nearby apartnement. Inside that apartment, deputies found empty Hungry Howie's food boxes, and discarded clothes and shoes with white paint on them. They also recovered the stolen money.

After interviewing several witnesses, deputies identified four teens as the robbery suspects: 16-year-old Kiondra Linda Gibson, of 501 Hartsell Avenue Apt. 78 in Lakeland; 16-year-old Reggie RyAnthony Williams, of 739 West Crawford Street in Lakeland; 17-year-old Larry Golden, of 807 Munn Avenue in Lakeland; and 17-year-old Anthony Whippleleatherwood, of 3722 Madbury Circle in Lakeland.

All four teens were arrested and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center, where they were each charged with: 1 count Burglary with Battery, 1 count Robbery with a weapon, and 1 count Burglary Conveyance - all charges are felonies.
