At approximately 1:30 am, on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a methamphetamine lab at 5115 Misty Lake Drive, Mulberry.

The home is owned by 39-year-old Jason Kasten who had an active PCSO felony warrant for VOP Grand Theft.  A gray Dodge truck parked at the residence was registered to William Kirby who also had an active PCSO felony warrant for Forgery.

Male voices and a female voice could be heard from inside the residence.  Deputies attempted to make contact with the residents inside however; they could not get anyone to answer the door. 

High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, or HIDTA, detectives also responded and observed approximately six one-pot meth lab reaction vessels in the driveway of the residence.  A search warrant was obtained for the residence and ultimately, several adults and a 7-year-old child were located inside.

Detectives, using protective suits and equipment searched the residence for additional methamphetamine lab equipment and located approximately nine one-pot meth labs in the garage and on the back patio to include some which were hidden inside a grill.  Also located were three gas generators, Coleman fuel, drain cleaner, approximately 15 blister packs for pseudoephedrine, cut lithium batteries, and drug paraphernalia.

Detectives also recovered 13.5 grams of liquid methamphetamine. Polk County HAZMAT was on scene to assist with the cleanup of the meth lab. DCF was contacted in reference to the child living in the residence where methamphetamine was being manufactured.

• Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine
• Possession of a Listed Chemical
• Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 

William Kirby, W/M, 10/18/1976, 5115 Misty Lake Drive, Mulberry.  Kirby was charged with:

• Manufacturing Methamphetamine with a minor present
• Manufacturing Methamphetamine
• Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine
• Possession of a Listed Chemical
• Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 

Jeannie Miller, W/F, 12/12/1976, 5115 Misty Lake Drive, Mulberry.  Miller was charged with:        

• Manufacturing Methamphetamine with a minor present
• Manufacturing Methamphetamine
• Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine
• Possession of a Listed Chemical
• Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Child Neglect
