 Lake Wales Man Arrested For Attempted First Degree Murder in Frostproof 


 

PCSO detectives have arrested and charged 23-year-old Joe Louis McCain (DOB 7/23/1990) of Lake Wales in an attempted murder investigation that occurred on September 16, 2013, in Frostproof.   

According to the affidavit, around 4:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013, McCain shot 30-year-old Adrian T. Williams of 142 Madera Drive in Winter Haven, multiple times during an altercation near 5 Lantana Road (a dance club/bar) in Frostproof.  Williams was airlifted to LRMC, where he remains in critical condition. 

After interviewing witnesses and processing evidence from the scene, deputies positively identified McCain as the shooter, and placed him under arrest.  McCain was booked into the Polk County Jail for one count Attempted First Degree Murder.

McCain has been in the Polk County Jail on two prior occasions, for Armed Burglary, Grand Theft of a Firearm, and Violation of Probation.
