 Eight Men Arrested During Undercover Vice Operation in Winter Haven 


On Tuesday, September 23, 2014, Polk County Sheriff's deputies working with Winter Haven Police officers in an undercover capacity, arrested eight suspects in Winter Haven for solicitation of prostitution and/or other charges. The vice operation focused on those who solicit prostitutes in the Winter Haven area.

Arrested were:

Edgar Baxter, DOB 8/24/1939, of 609 Taylor Blvd in Winter Haven; Baxter solicited an undercover detective to perform a lewd act. Baxter told law enforcement officers that he is married and is a self-employed OTR truck driver (Baxter Trucking). He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Soliciting Another to Commit Lewdness. He was released after posting $500 bond. He has two prior arrests in Polk County for contempt of court, and aggravated assault.

Jeffrey Bogue, DOB 1/28/1960, of 1912 18th Street NW in Winter Haven; Bogue solicited an undercover detective to perform a lewd act. He told law enforcement officers he is single and did not disclose his occupation. He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Offering to Commit Prostitution, and DWLSR. He has nine prior arrests in Polk County, and in 2008 was sentenced to 6 years in state prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment. He was released from prison in March 2013. He is being held on no bond.

Carl Burch, DOB 9/20/1945, of 302 Sierra Circle in Davenport; Burch solicited an undercover detective to perform a lewd act. Burch told law enforcement officers he is single, and works as a security guard at Lake Ashton. He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Soliciting Another for Lewdness, and released after posting $500 bond. He has no prior arrests in Polk County.

Donat Fortin, DOB 9/24/1933, of 500 Avenue L NW in Winter Haven; Fortin exposed himself to an undercover detective and solicited the detective to perform a lewd act. He told law enforcement officers he is married and retired. He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Soliciting Another for Lewdness and Indecent Exposure, and released after posting $1000 bond. He has no prior arrests in Polk County.

Billy Murphy, DOB 11/3/1991, of 2015 10th Street NW in Winter Haven; Murphy told one of the undercover detectives he was going to get some pills and come back - when he returned, he was in possession of hydrocodone without a prescription. He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Possession of Hydrocodone and Resisting Arrest. He is being held on $1000 bond. He has six prior arrests in Polk County.

Shada Pierre, DOB 9/13/1988, of 2258 5th Street NE in Winter Haven; Pierre solicited an undercover detective to perform a lewd act. He told law enforcement officers he is single and works as a dishwasher at a restaurant in Orlando. He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Soliciting Another for Lewdness and Display of Cancelled/Revoked DL. He is being held on $500 bond. He has one prior arrest in Polk County for DWLSR.

Lester Servies, DOB 6/27/1928, of 700 Mirror Terrace NW in Winter Haven; Servies solicited an undercover detective to perform a lewd act. He told law enforcement officers he is a widower and is retired. He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Soliciting Another to Commit Lewdness, and was released after posting $250 bond. He has one prior arrest in Polk County in 2001 for Soliciting Another to Commit Lewdness.

Jeremy Smith, DOB 11/15/1979, of 513 Tanglewood Drive in Auburndale; Smith exposed himself to an undercover detective and solicited the detective to perform a lewd act. He told law enforcement officers he is married and works at Mac's Meat. He was booked into the Polk County Jail for Soliciting Another to Commit Lewdness and Indecent Exposure, and he was released after posting $750 bond. He has no prior arrests in Polk County.
