Haines City Robbery Homicide Suspect Arrested

Polk County Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives, assisting the Haines City Police Department in a Robbery Homicide, have arrested 28-year-old Jacroy Shamar Waddell, DOB 11/28/1982, of Haines City.  Waddell is charged with Robbery and First Degree Murder in the shooting death of 20-year-old Jaime Magana, Jr.

Waddell was located at approximately 12:19 am, Sunday, October 9, 2011, at the Red Roof Inn, 2307 East Busch Boulevard, Tampa.  Assisting the PCSO Homicide detectives in the arrest were members of the U.S. Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and Officers with the Tampa Police Department.  Waddell was arrested without incident and booked into the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Jail.

As reported on Friday, October 07, 2011, at approximately 9:17 am, two black males entered the Video Latino, 1719 Hinson Avenue, Haines City, brandishing a handgun.  The clerk, Magana, was shot and killed.  A customer found Magana deceased and contacted the Haines City Police Department.  Haines City Police Chief Rick Sloan contacted the PCSO requesting assistance in the investigation.

Video surveillance captured the images of the two suspects as they struggled with the victim and removed cash from the register.

One male, taller than the second, wore a white t-shirt with lettering on the front.  He also wore a Florida Marlin’s cap, sunglasses, and blue jeans.  This suspect was identified as Waddell.

The second black male wore a long sleeve, dark colored hoodie style shirt, jeans and a camouflage style cap with text.  This suspect has been identified as Jadarius Latra Wilson, DOB 12/10/91, 2204 Navel Circle N. Haines City.  There is an open warrant for his arrest.

Wilson is considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact 9-1-1.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number is 863.298.6200.
