Convenience store openly displayed pornographic magazines in Eagle Lake; two arrested

Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested two men yesterday in response to a complaint about pornographic magazines (Barely Legal, Hustler, Playboy, Playgirl, Bad Puppy, etc.) being openly displayed for sale in a convenience store within walking distance of two schools (the Chevron store located at 558 N. 5th St., Eagle Lake).

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Ahmad Alnobani of Winter Haven (display obscene material harmful to minors & sale of obscene material to a minor) and 53-year-old Anwar Alnobani of Eagle Lake (display obscene material harmful to minors).

Ahmad Alnobani sold a Hustler and 18eighteen magazine to an underage boy (who was working with deputies in the investigation). Ahmad asked the 17-year-old boy for identification which showed he was under age.  Ahmad then instructed the teen to exit the store and then park his car in a space directly in front of the store so that Ahmad could make sure the teen did not have anyone with him so that he (Ahmad) did not get in any trouble by selling him the pornographic material. Ahmad then offered to sell the 17-year-old pornographic DVDs he kept behind the counter. Ahmad was previously arrested in 2012 for sale of alcohol to a minor.
