 Operation Pop Top Results  


On Monday, November 6, 2017, PCSO deputies, along with the assistance of a PCSO Explorer (high school student volunteer), conducted “Operation Pop Top” in an effort to combat the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors in the Alturas area. 3 stores were checked and 22 were in compliance.

"We are consistently encouraged that the vast majority of retailers in our area comply with the laws prohibiting selling alcohol to minors. We thank them for their diligence. Those who do not comply will be held accountable.”  Grady Judd, Sheriff

The following stores were in compliance: 

Lee’s Country Store, 3540 E. Central Ave., Alturas

Circle K, 7695 S.R. 60, Alturas

59-year-old Faye Elizabeth Hansen of Bartow, who works at the Hurricane’s Handimart and Bait & Tackle located at 5401 S.R. 60, Alturas was arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a minor.
