Annual PCSO Pet Fest Scheduled For Saturday, December 1st

The Polk County Sheriff’s Animal Control Section is once again hosting its annual Pet Fest from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the facility, located at 7115 De Castro Road, Winter Haven in Winter Haven just off the Polk Parkway near the Polk County landfill.

This year, the first 100 people to adopt a pet will receive a FREE LEGOLAND TICKET!

Not only are adoption fees discounted to $25.00 (a savings of $140.00!!!) on all pets the day of the event, if you already have a pet, vaccinations will be offered at $5.00 each and microchips are discounted to $15.00. The Home Again pet recovery service will have a same day microchip registration booth on site, and pet clinics will be held throughout the day.

Several vendors will be on site with food and activities for families and their pets, bounce houses for children, along with demonstrations by the PCSO K-9 Unit, Crime Prevention, and Support Services.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be there, ready to take photos with families and pets.

If you are interested in adopting one of the many deserving animals in our facility, you may prequalify for adoption by completing the “Pre-Adoption Screening Form” available on our website:

Don’t miss this opportunity to become a responsible pet owner and give a special animal a home this holiday season. For more information, please contact the PCSO Animal Control Section at 863.499.2600.

The media is invited and encouraged to attend this event. Photo and video opportunities will be made available.
