Polk County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Assist Virginia Police in Predator Investigation

On November 21, 2011 members of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Computer Crimes and Identity Theft Units assisted the Fairfax County Virginia Police Department by executing a search warrant at a residence on 35th St NW, Winter Haven.  Fairfax detectives alerted PCSO detectives to a suspect they were investigating in a Child Predator investigation.

The suspect, Robert Wojda W/M, 10/25/61, believed he was chatting with a 13-year-old girl. During his chats he talked about having sex with the young girl and masturbated on a web cam thinking he was performing the act for the 13-year-old child.

Detectives in Fairfax obtained an arrest warrant for three counts of Obscene Communications (Virginia State law). Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Wojda without incident and seized several computers from the house to include the one he used to chat with the Fairfax detective he believed to be a 13-year-old.

Wojda admitted to the crime, however denied ever touching children.

The suspect was living with a family which includes two children under the age of 15.  The family was unaware of the suspect’s criminal activity.

Wojda will have first appearance today, Tuesday, November 22, 2011.
