 Operation Pop Top Results  

On Friday, December 1, 2017, PCSO deputies, along with the assistance of a PCSO Explorer (high school student volunteer), conducted “Operation Pop Top” in an effort to combat the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors in the Lakeland area. 5 stores were checked and 4 were in compliance.

"We are consistently encouraged that the vast majority of retailers in our area comply with the laws prohibiting selling alcohol to minors. We thank them for their diligence. Those who do not comply will be held accountable.”  Grady Judd, Sheriff

The following stores were in compliance: 

Shell Gas Station - 2100 W. Memorial, Lakeland.

Citgo Gas Station - 2340 W. Memorial, Lakeland.

Sunoco 2170 – W. Memorial, Lakeland.

Chevron 1615 – W. Memorial, Lakeland.

38-year-old Abu Sayem of Tampa, who works at the BP located at 835 Memorial Blvd in Lakeland was arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a minor and possession of marijuana.
