Officials Seek Information Regarding Leon Davis

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the Lake Wales Police Department,
the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the State Attorney’s Office are
conducting a joint investigation into the whereabouts of Leon Davis, Jr.,
between the time of the Lake Wales arson, and subsequent murder,
and the time he turned himself in law enforcement.
At approximately 3:39 pm, on Thursday, December 13, 2007, Davis
entered the Headley Insurance Office, 124 West Central Avenue in
Lake Wales, and attempted to rob the two women inside. He then
taped the women together, poured gasoline on them and set them on
fire.
Davis later turned himself
in to Law Enforcement at the PCSO Southeast District
Command at approximately 8pm.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in
determining Davis’ whereabouts between the time of
the crime until the time he was placed under arrest.
Detectives have connected Davis to the December 7, 2007 Double Homicide of two employees at
the BP Station, 6000 Highway 557, Lake Alfred. Images captured on surveillance video show the
victims offering no resistance. They were found shot to death, execution style.
If anyone has any information regarding this case,
please contact the PCSO Homicide Unit at
863.534.6379, or 863.533.0344.
