Auburndale Food Store Robbery Suspect Arrested

The suspect wanted in the Auburndale Food Store armed robbery, which occurred on March 9, 2007, around 6:00 a.m., was arrested Sunday in Polk County on a Nassau County warrant for a robbery that he committed in Fernandina Beach.

According to a Fernandina Beach Police news release, Alan Richard Vincenty, DOB 5/19/60, of 2902 West 5th Street in Fernandina Beach, was overheard telling someone in Fernandina Beach recently that he had committed a robbery south of there on March 9th. Then Vincenty committed a similar armed robbery in Fernandina Beach on March 17, and fled to Auburndale.

FBPD detectives contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office with their suspicions that he was in Polk County and had possibly committed a robbery here on March 9th, and that they had a Nassau County warrant for his arrest as well. Vincenty was arrested without incident on Sunday, March 18, 2007, and booked into the Polk County Jail on Nassau charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment, and Grand Theft.

Now armed with his mug shot photo and fingerprints, PCSO robbery detectives followed up on leads that  Vincenty was responsible for a robbery here. Vincenty was positively identified by the victims in the Auburndale Food Store robbery, and a palm print that he left behind at that scene was also positively identified as his. Nassau County deputies came to Polk County on March 20th to transport Vincenty back there to face their charges, and PCSO detectives will be additionally charging Vincenty for the Polk robbery that he committed.
