In an effort to provide Easter cheer, encouragement, and some very cute stuffed animals to sick children, The Easter Bunny will be hopping around to three area hospitals, along with PCSO deputy sheriff escorts, on Friday, April 2, 2010.
The visit is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and will begin at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, located at 1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. From there, the Easter Bunny and PCSO members will hop on over to the Winter Haven Hospital (200 Ave. F NE), then to the Regency Women's Medical Center (101 Ave O SE, Winter Haven). The Easter Bunny will have Easter baskets filled with stuffed animals to hand out to the children.
The Easter Bunny visit is a partnership program made possible by The Easter Bunny Foundation (www.theeasterbunny.com), the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and local hospitals. The Easter Bunny Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support children’s hospitals across America and throughout the United Kingdom by providing a personal visit and a toy from The Easter Bunny and the local Sheriff during the week of Easter.
Media representatives are invited and encouraged to come join in the fun!
"This is a very special cause that we enjoy participating in each year, because it puts so many smiles on the faces of the women and children with whom we are privileged to interact," says Sheriff Grady Judd. "On Friday, bunnies and deputies all over the state will be reminding them that some 'bunny' loves them."
