 Haines City Man Charged With Second Degree Murder 


Polk County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives have charged a Haines City man with second degree murder after investigation revealed he shot a man to death in Haines City on Tuesday, February 27, 2007.

According to the affidavit, at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27th, Jason Lovett, DOB 1/16/68, of 1309 Moss Avenue in Haines City, was at his residence when he became involved in a verbal argument with Jesse “Allan” Thrower, DOB 1/5/59, of 4477 US Hwy 17/92 in Haines City. During the argument, Lovett threatened to shoot Thrower, at which point Thrower punched Lovett in the face. Lovett retrieved a .38 caliber revolver and shot Thrower at least three times, striking him twice in the upper torso. Thrower was taken to the Heart of Florida Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

During an interview, Jason Lovett admitted that he intentionally shot Allan Thrower. The incident was witnessed by Stephen Glover, who lives at the Moss Avenue address with Lovett. Lovett was booked into the Polk County Jail at 7:10 a.m. this morning and charged with Second Degree Murder. He will have a first appearance hearing on Thursday, March 1, 2007.
