 PCSO Detectives Conducting Death Investigation

Polk County Sheriff’s detectives are conducting a death investigation tonight, Friday, October 12, 2007.

At approximately 2:30 pm, today, PCSO Dive team members, during a combined training exercise and clean up effort at Saddle Creek Park, U. S. Highway 92 in Lakeland, discovered a submerged vehicle that is connected to a 2005 missing persons’ case. Human remains, described as bones, were found inside.

The vehicle pulled from the water is the same black, 1996 Jeep Cherokee, described in the 2005 report. The vehicle belonged to Yascara Yturralde, DOB 12/11/1968. Yturralde was reported missing on 10-10-2005, from 937 Whisper Lake, Winter Haven. Yturralde’s next of kin has been notified of the discovery. Identification will be determined through autopsy results.
