PCSO Mourns the Loss of Detention Member Moses Nwajei

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their members today.

Moses Nwajei, DOB 11/22/49, was hired at the agency as a detention support specialist (DSS), which is a civilian position, in December 2006. He was employed at the South County Jail in Frostproof. DSS Nwajei did not show up for work as scheduled on Tuesday evening, March 13, 2007, so his supervisors sent agency members to his home in Winter Haven to conduct a well-being check. DSS Nwajei was found deceased inside his home. No foul play is suspected and the Sheriff’s Office is conducting a routine death investigation.

Moses Nwajei was not married, and he had a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
