On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, members of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigations Section, Intelligence Unit, and Robbery Unit conducted a Violent Crimes Task Force initiative in the Northwest District area of Polk County. During the initiative thirty (30) subjects were arrested.
During the overnight investigation, detectives located several subjects who were gathered together near a vacant duplex on Mercury Drive, in Lakeland. The PCSO had received several reports that this location was suspected to have drug activity.
Four subjects (Suspect info listed below - Tavaris Strong, Otis Davis, Terrance Strong, and Chasio Thomas) were subsequently arrested for drug related offenses at the duplex. Over 100 grams of cannabis, over 22 grams of cocaine, and approximately $700 in US currency were seized.
Detectives also received information about a possible drug transaction to be conducted in the north Lakeland area. Michael Wilson was identified as the drug trafficker and detectives located Wilson at the Royalty Inn, in Lakeland where he was taken into custody. Over $1,000 in US currency was seized during this investigation.
Those arrested were:
1) 61-year-old Barbara McCall, DOB 01/24/1948, 417 East Oak Street, Lakeland. McCall was charged with having Open Warrants for Forgery and Uttering a Forged Instrument.
2) 28-year-old Ronald Thornton, DOB 02/02/1981, 4405 Deeson Road, Lakeland. Thornton was charged with having an Open Warrant for VOP-Possession of Cocaine.
3) 20-year-old Ariosto Rodriguez, DOB 10/10/1988, 1732 Petersburg Avenue, Lakeland. Rodriguez was charged with Possession of MDMA, Possession of Cannabis, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
4) 25-year-old Angel Barber, DOB 12/24/1983, 430 Oakland Drive #D, Lakeland. Barber was charged with DWLSR.
5) 26-year-old Otis Davis, DOB 06/24/1982, 834 Sharron Circle, Lakeland. Davis was charged with Possession of Cannabis under 20 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
6) 21-year-old Terrance Strong, DOB 12/28/1987, 3429 Kathy Court, Lakeland. Strong was charged with Possession of Cannabis under 20 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
7) 26-year-old Chasio Thomas, DOB 06/26/1983, 1111 Apollo Court, Lakeland. Thomas was charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell within 1,000 Feet of a School, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell within 1,000 Feet of a School, Maintain a Vehicle for Drug Sales, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
8) 23-year-old Tavaris Strong, DOB 09/26/1985, 3429 Kathy Court, Lakeland. Strong was charged with Possession of Cannabis under 20 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
9) 55-year-old Thomas Burns (aka Thomas Barnes), DOB 06/13/1954, 3922 Avenue Q NW, Winter Haven. Burns was charged with DWLSR-Habitual Offender.
10) 20-year-old Lauren Romanok, DOB 10/28/1988, 2245 New Tampa Highway, Lakeland. Romanoak is charged with Solicit Another to Commit Prostitution, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting LEO without Violence.
11) 21-year-old Katie Martin, DOB 06/03/1988, 5115 North Socrum Loop, Lakeland. Martin is charged with Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cannabis Over 20 Grams, DWLSR, and Maintaining a Vehicle for Drug Use.
12) 27-year-old Yohance Rogers, DOB 08/29/1981, 1104 Bartow Road #G78, Bartow. Rogers is charged with Possession of Cannabis With Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cannabis Over 20 Grams, DWLSR, and Maintaining a Vehicle for Drug Use.
13) 30-year-old Marques Wilson, DOB 06/16/1979, 911 Ruth Avenue, Lakeland. Wilson is charged with Possession of Cannabis Under 20 Grams.
14) 25-year-old James Cross, DOB 06/05/1984, 725 North Florida Avenue, Lakeland. Cross is charged with Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol.
15) 22-year-old Christopher Campbell, DOB 07/20/1986, 826 Sharron Circle, Lakeland. Campbell is charged with Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol and Possession of Cannabis Under 20 Grams.
16) 27-year-old Henry Jones, DOB 11/16/1981, 116 West Modest Street, Lakeland. Jones is charged with Possession of Cannabis, Tamper with Physical Evidence, and Resist LEO Without Violence.
17) 18-year-old Curt Culmer, DOB 09/23/1990, 5115 North Socurm Loop, Lakeland. Culmer is charged with Possession of Cannabis Under 20 Grams.
18) 25-year-old Travis Butler, DOB 02/08/1984, 3601 Kernan Blvd. #2531, Lakeland. Butler is charged with Possession of Cannabis Under 20 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintaining a Vehicle for Drug Use.
19)18-year-old Michael Fortes, DOB 07/09/1990, 2591 King Avenue, Auburndale. Fortez is charged with an Open Warrant for VOP-Burglary and Grand Theft
20) A 17-year-old Lakeland Juvenile was charged with Resisting a LEO Without Violence.
21) A 16-year-old Lakeland Juvenile was charged with Possession of Cannabis Under 20 Grams.
22) 29-year-old Shawn McCalpin, DOB 07/02/1970, 623 West Crawford Street, Lakeland. McCalpin is charged with an Open Warrant for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
23) 21-year-old Brandon Gant, DOB 08/18/1987, 1820 West 10th Street, Lakeland. Gant is charged with Possession of Cannabis Under 20 Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
24) 40-year-old Lisa McKerley, DOB 07/08/1968, 7009 Greenbriar Village Drive, Lakeland. McKerley is charged with Possession of New Legend Drug Without Prescription.
